How to clean water

What would you say if you heard that there is a way to get drinking water that is 99.9% pure? No, it isn't a new kind of bottled water, and it doesn't come straight from your tap. You may not have ever thought about needing a special type of filter, but fresh, palatable drinking water is in short supply in our world. True, if you look at a map or a globe, it looks like there's massive supplies all over the planet, but did you realize that only 3% of the water on Earth is fresh? All the rest, a whopping 97%, is saltwater. And even the small supply we have is dwindling. It's become evident that we all are going to need other options.

Portable water filters, in the form of water filtration bottles, have become quite popular. Of course, our society passed through the era of the commercial bottled water, but more and more people are realizing that they were paying a premium price for water that was no better than what they could get from their faucets at home. Water filtration bottles are rapidly taking their place due to their ease of use, their excellent filtration capabilities, and their lower cost. They present a win-win situation for everyone who uses them.

Why is water so important? To start with, 70% of your body is made up of nothing but water. Every day your body loses 6 pints of the stuff, and it's critical to your health and well-being that you rehydrate to make up for the loss. In the case of strenuous exercise or lengthy exposure to hot temperatures, the body loses even more water that needs to be replaced. Keeping a bottle of 99% pure water at your fingertips throughout the day will give you the opportunities you need to drink adequate amounts.

Of course, we here in the United States are the fortunate ones. It isn't nearly as easy to get safe drinking water in many of the other countries in the world. In fact, it has been estimated that well over one billion people worldwide are forced to drink contaminated water. From doing so, they contract waterborne diseases, and they die. These types of diseases come from bacteria and viruses that are suspended in the water they drink, and they have become the leading cause of death in children. It's obvious that somehow we need to find a way to make the portable technology we have, such as water filtration bottles, available to everyone who needs them no matter where they live in the world.
